RATES
Only adults (age 17+) will be allowed to self-drive.

Rates are stated per person. One sled is shared by 2 adults and maximum 2 children, in half way there will be a chance to switch drivers. By choosing the single driving pricing category you reserve one sled per one adult.

One adult will drive the sled, the other one can sit with the children. If the size, weight or amount of the participants in a group exceed the capacity of the dog team, we will offer to have the older children or adults join the guide’s sled.

If your group has an uneven amount of adults, you may be asked to share the sled with participants outside of your group.

Please note, however, that the final sled allocation is always decided by the guide on-site.

TEENAGER CATEGORY

Guests between the ages of 13-16 are considered teenagers. Teenagers are not eligible to drive the sled themselves and will be required to sit in the sled of the guide.

To prepare for your visit we would recommend reading our blog post here: Embracing the Cold: How to Dress Smart and Know When to Just Feel It

Our minimum age for driving a sled is 17 years. We do not allow participants under the age of 17 to drive the sleds. Driving a husky sled takes a certain amount of strength but also ability to manoeuvre and think that a young person might still lack.
If someone (even adults) can drive the sled is always in the hands of the guide of the tour, since they are responsible for the safety on the tour. To make the guide’s day that much easier, we’ve set the limit at 17 years of age. If an adult guest does not listen to driving instructions or it seems that their abilities to manoeuvre a husky sled have been impaired, our guides have the right to not let them drive, but to organize another way for them to join the tour.

Yes, absolutely! The Happy Trail tour is one of our family friendly tours, which is also suitable for very small children. The 45 minutes of driving time that this tour includes is usually a time frame that even small children can handle out in the cold.

We also provide your infant with a sleeping bag to keep them nice and warm. But please make sure to dress your small child very warmly already with their own clothing, as small children tend to get cold easier and are more prone to frostbite.

In case of children younger than 1 years old, please contact our sales team in advance: Booking@bearhillhusky.com

If you are unsure about driving the sled yourself, then we would not recommend booking the Happy Trail tour. This tour is really for those people who want to experience driving a dog sled themselves. If you would prefer to have a professional musher drive the sled for you, then we would recommend checking out our musher tours instead.
